Nine Maidens stone circle Peter Blake

Peter Blake -  born in Hampshire,  brought up in Guildford and Farnham, Surrey before working in various locations in Surrey, Hereford/Worcestershire and Devon .

Peter describes moving back to the West Country felt like coming home, as both he and his wife had family connections to Devon as well as having enjoyed countless holidays in the area.

Both his parents used to paint or sketch so he has always been encouraged to do so as well. After dabbling with oils and acrylics he settled into the challenge of watercolours but was a bit of a lazy painter and only doing it on holiday – mainly due to the pressure of work and family life!

He is a member of West Dartmoor Art Group and Whitchurch Group painting on a more regular basis primarily interested in pure watercolours occasionally using pen and wash if it suits the scene. Living in Tavistock, on the edge of Dartmoor, means he can tap into an endless supply of beautiful locations.

Peter enters pictures every year in exhibitions. His framed originals and limited edition prints can be viewed at Wildwood Arts in Horrabridge, Greenhill Arts Gallery in Moreton Hampstead and Salar Gallery in Hatherleigh. A collection of his cards are also available at Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centres.
